Guest Speaker

Steve Tothero’s presentation, “Confidence in Communicating”, reinforced the need for networking.  His presentation emphasized:

  • Talk to your Weak acquaintances, not just your Strong acquaintances.  Often your weak acquaintances will have information outside of your normal circle.  He recommended “Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business” by Charles Duhigg.
  • Preparing for behavioral interview questions using STAR answers.
  • Consider an interim position to learn new skills and provide structure to your routine
  • Importance of confident communication – he recommended Toastmasters.

Steve is an alumni of the group and is currently a Business Development Manager at American Express.
